Christmas Fun

Cache's darling little sweater suit for Christmas Sunday today. I couldn't get enough of him wearing it :) He is getting so chunky and we love it!

Kade met Santa Claus at our ward Christmas party and just marched right up and sat on his lap.

We are finishing sending out Christmas cards and I thought it would be fun to see where they are all going:

Utah: 20
California: 11
Alberta, Canada: 4
Virgina: 2
Alabama: 1
Ohio: 1
Indiana: 1
Washington: 1
Idaho: 1
Arizona: 1

Merry Christmas to friends and family all over the map!

Thanksgiving and Cache's blessing day

We had lots of fun for Thanksgiving with my parents and sister and her family here. Cache's baby blessing was on Sunday the 28th and Luke's family and friends were also here to attend and participate in the blessing. We were so happy to have family from both sides plus Luke's four closest friends here!

With both sets of grandparents.
All the men in the circle.

"That's a whole lot of handsome"
--as Luke likes to say about the men in our little family.

Ready for Mr. Cache

It is September 23 and Cache is due on October 23 and better not be late :)

I finished knitting a sweater for him today and it is so cute and little and makes me excited to hold the new bambino.

I have his crib all set up and he has a sailor theme.

We are ready to welcome our new little one!

Pics of our home

Here are some pictures of our new place. It feels like home and we are happy here.

The Biggest Loser

Luke and I are die-hard Biggest Loser watchers. I don't know how the obsession started but we are hooked and watch it every Tuesday night. The new season started this week and we have until Halloween to choose our contestant.

I am feeling like I need to go on it now because I am tired of my huge baby bump out front. Good thing that is just a temporary, self-imposed condition.

One month until due date--hooray!!

A bad first day

Everyone wants a flawless starting of a new job. The morning should run smoothly, your clothes and hair should look great, and you should arrive a little early after finding a close parking spot. All these things should calm your nerves and help you have the best first day ever.

Unfortunately, this was not the case for Luke. He did get up on time, his clothes and hair looked great, and he did arrive a little early. The great parking spot was not an issue because Kade and I had to drive him to work. . .

It all started when Luke washed both cars on Friday afternoon. Kade played in the Jeep while Luke was cleaning and Kade turned on the dome lights in the Jeep and we didn't notice, so we then had a dead battery on Saturday. No worries though, we jumped the Jeep with the Gal and went about on our way.

Too bad that after we jumped the Jeep we left one of the doors on the Gal slightly ajar so its battery also died. And then the Jeep's battery needed to be replaced.

All this boils down to Monday morning when Luke went out to start the Gal and drive to work. It was dead. Good thing was have two cars so he went to the Jeep. It was dead. A little bit of panic set in.

Our wonderful neighbor jumped the Gal and Luke, Kade and I all drove him in to San Jose because I needed a car that day to go to my first doctor visit for baby Cache on Monday.

Both cars now run but it was not a flawless starting to Luke's career! A good story for him to tell when he is a business executive and is trying to motivate his new employees on their first day.

We are here!

We made it to our new home! Luke was very manly and drove the 24 foot truck pulling the Jeep and Kade and I drove the Gal. We were lucky that his dad could drive with him and his mom came with me.

Our new apartment is slowly coming together and when there aren't boxes and odds-and-ends all over then I will post some pictures.

Kade loves the swimming pool and the grassy areas right outside our front door and calls this place "home," so I think we are settled in.

We are enjoying our free schedule for this week until Luke starts training on Monday.

So far so good in San Jose.

Packing

We have started packing up our apartment getting ready for the move. We'll soon just have fond memories of living in the mortuary. The big day for driving out to California is September 1st.

Kade thinks that listening to Dad's ipod and coloring on boxes is a good time. First it is Mommy's turn to label the box and then it is his turn to add a few more lines with the marker. He is oblivous to the move and to his coming baby brother.

I am packing around this huge belly. 31 weeks.

A close-up compliments of my photographer Luke.

Son of an Accountant

Kade is already following in Luke's footsteps. Usually he gets to pick a book to take to his crib with him to look at as he falls asleep but tonight he choose an interesting book--our old check book. Interested in organizing money already :)

Accessories

Kade has found two new accessories that go with any clothes-- Luke's Ugg boots and Luke's bike helmet. What a sense of fashion! He wants to wear this get-up at least once a day and tries to get us to go outside with him by taking us to our shoes so he can show his awesome threads to the whole world :)

We found a little Cache. . .

It's a boy!! We are excited for another darling boy and for a brother for Kade. Everything looks perfect on the ultrasound and he is measuring right on so the due date stands for the end of October.

We're going to name him Cache Richard. Richard is Luke's Dad's name and Cache has been Luke's favorite name for a boy since we were dating.

So here's to a family of boys!!

Two times the tractors

My dad recently purchased a full-fledged tractor. He previously had a small one for landscaping and then also got a more powerful one for some real farm work. He has now traded in the smallest one for a full size tractor, complete with an air-conditioned cab and huge bucket loader on the front. We spent last Sunday and Monday down at the farm with them for a late Mother's Day celebration since we couldn't go down the previous weekend.

Kade loved driving the tractors, feeding grass to the horses across the street, going to the grove to see the stream and spending time with Grandpa and Grandma. We don't see them too often now that they are living down there full time.

I have started to feel baby #2 moving and we have our appointment for the ultrasound on June 8th. We'd both like a boy so that Kade has a brother close in age, but we'd also both like a girl just cause she'd be so cute :) Any guesses from anyone?

Caution: Good News Overload!

It is now Master Luke to you! Luke finished his Masters of Accounting. Good work graduate!

Luke's immediate family, grandparents, and cousins, plus my parents and sister and her family were all there to celebrate with him for convocation.

Next on the schedule was a birthday party for Luke and Kade. Luke at the ripe old age of 26 and Kade at 2.

They both had fun with new toys.

A jig saw for Luke and a toy jig saw for Luke jr.

And an ice cream cake to finish off a wonderful party. Kade had so much fun with all his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Thanks for helping us celebrate!

And the last two items on the good new list are

1) Luke has accepted a job in California working for an accounting firm. We will be moving out there some time at the beginning of September.

2) Baby #2 is on the way and due October 23rd! We don't know if it is a pink or a blue yet but should find out at the beginning of June.

I don't think we can handle any more excitement than this in one month. April 2010 has turned out to be all I had dreamed of :)

April 2010

How many times have I said "April 2010"? It may seem an odd question but if I had a quarter for every time I've said it. . .

April 2010 has been the future, the distant promise of hope. Luke graduates in April 2010!

And here we are.

Here's to Luke's Masters in Accounting, the coming end (hopefully) of my working days, Luke's birthday on the 22nd, Kade's birthday on the 23rd, family coming to town to celebrate the graduation and birthdays, and a new phase of life coming up. We are excited!!

Life in black and white

I bought a new bed set for myself. We have had our other one for a few years and I was getting tired of it so I saw this beauty on sale at Target and had to have it. Even though it clashes with the terrible green and cream wallpaper, we won't be in the mortuary forever.

And here is the bug-man himself. He put on these goggles and decided to call someone. It was most likely "Gwamp-pa" and I don't know what my Dad did to win Kade over so completely but he asks to call or go visit Grandpa almost every morning.

baby genius on the loose

The other day Kade was trying to open a little bottle with the safety plastic wrapper still on it. I didn't particularly want him to have it open, so I said "no" when he gave it to me to open. Undaunted, he ran out of the room and returned a minute later with the can opener! What a smartie pants!!

It is still Aubs, Le, and Tiff

I still keep in touch with my two best friends from high school. It is easier with Aubrey because she and I live close but it gets a bit trickier to see LeAnn since she has moved half way across the country. We are always excited to get together and catch up. These were from last summer but LeAnn just emailed them to me and I thought I'd post them anyway.

Aubrey and Brandon are going on 6.5 years and have 2 adorable boys.

LeAnn and Scott are going on 4.5 years and have 1 darling girl and a boy on the way.

Tiffany and Luke are going on 4 years and have the Kade.

Nice work girls!!

Kade's cleaning service

Kade got a mohawk from Luke and has been looking like a cute little rocker. He had the full head mohawk for about a month but now we've cut off the back part because he was getting a little rat tail. We got many a comment on his awesome hair.

Kade loves the vacuum!! It is arguable his favorite toy right now. He insists on helping or a rather large melt-down occurs. So if you need your floors cleaned. . .

or your laundry done I'll send him over to help you.
