baby genius on the loose

The other day Kade was trying to open a little bottle with the safety plastic wrapper still on it. I didn't particularly want him to have it open, so I said "no" when he gave it to me to open. Undaunted, he ran out of the room and returned a minute later with the can opener! What a smartie pants!!

I still keep in touch with my two best friends from high school. It is easier with Aubrey because she and I live close but it gets a bit trickier to see LeAnn since she has moved half way across the country. We are always excited to get together and catch up. These were from last summer but LeAnn just emailed them to me and I thought I'd post them anyway.

Aubrey and Brandon are going on 6.5 years and have 2 adorable boys.

LeAnn and Scott are going on 4.5 years and have 1 darling girl and a boy on the way.

Tiffany and Luke are going on 4 years and have the Kade.

Kade's cleaning service

Kade got a mohawk from Luke and has been looking like a cute little rocker. He had the full head mohawk for about a month but now we've cut off the back part because he was getting a little rat tail. We got many a comment on his awesome hair.

Kade loves the vacuum!! It is arguable his favorite toy right now. He insists on helping or a rather large melt-down occurs. So if you need your floors cleaned. . .

or your laundry done I'll send him over to help you.

Christmas 2009

We had a fun Christmas break and were blessed to spend time with both side of the family. Kade had a good time opening and playing with presents. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoy 2010!

Four years ago I made a similar trip during Christmas break to meet Luke's family for the first time. . .and the rest is history! Love him lots!

Love at First Site

Kade is infatuated, consumed, enthralled, obsessed, and enamored by the Christmas tree and the lights. We can't be at home without having the lights plugged in. It is so fun to see him so excited and to remember the magic of Christmas!

for a wonderful husband

for a good job

for freedom

for a warm house

for food every morning when I wake up.

Last Monday morning we were out of milk and Kade wanted some before we made it to the store. I was so sad having to tell him that we didn't have any. I got a glimpse of the insecurity and difficulty for mothers who don't always have enough for their babies. I am very thankful for the many things I enjoy that I take for granted.

Kade was a cowboy for Halloween and a very cute one at that! Here he is on his faithful steed.
Howdy there partner!

Luke and Kade went to our ward Halloween party but I had to work so I couldn't go. I guess Luke was stinky but I laughed when I saw how this picture turned out. Really Kade just has found his nose and walks around touching it and sticking his fingers in it. But a great picture overall :)

We went trick-or-treating to the Frosts, the Byers and to Meg's Halloween party. Hope you all had a fun holiday too!
