Getting ready for Baby

We bought a dresser for baby's clothes and the drawers are organized in sizes and I love looking at all of his little things. One of my new favorite fashion ideas is to wear Luke's tee-shirts as I have been confined to maternity clothes for the past few months and sometime I am sick of my options. He thinks it is funny to come home from school and see me in his clothes.

The countdown continues! We went to our first of four pre-natal classes last night and apparently the baby didn't know until last night that he could start with some contractions any time he wanted to, so this morning I had my first taste of little Braxton-Hicks contractions. If they just stay this mild I think I'll be fine. We bought our infant car seat yesterday and Baby also has a lovely collection of shoes . . . although Luke doesn't think he needs any more in these little sizes since he'll be too small to walk. But coming from a long line of shoe lovers, the baby has no choice but to have a great wardrobe of shoes.

Sleepover!

We had Amanda, Leslie and Alison come play and sleepover at our house. They all set up their beds on our inflatable mattress and we had a fun time playing games, dressing-up with all of Mom's old 80s jewelry and watching Luke do magic tricks.

29 Weeks

Baby is getting older and bigger. He is kicking everywhere and Luke and I both enjoy feeling him move every day. Next week will put us in the third trimester--how has it passed so fast? I'm going to have to start lifting weights because it is easier to carry him in my tummy than it will be to lug around a baby carrier!

Mom's dream come true. . .Graceland!

Janetta rocking out with the original microphone used by Elvis and Johnny Cash as they recorded in the Sun Recording studio.

Outside of Sun Recording studio in downtown Memphis.

There was a resturant that came to pick you up in a pink Cadillac limosine, so obviously we had to go there! Although the food wasn't top notch, the ride made all the difference!

Graceland Mansion which Elvis bought at age 22 for $100,000.

Elvis' personal jet named after his daughter, very posh inside.

The shirt Elvis wore in the movie "Jail House Rock" is in the Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis.

My mom loves Elvis so for her 60th birthday we went with her to Graceland to pay our tributes to the King. We had a lot of fun touring his mansion and learning about his life and career in music. We also visited the National Civil Rights Museum built at the hotel location where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis. We had a great time and baby Langton was the only boy allowed :) Happy Birthday Mom!!
