Christmas Eve and Kaden update

We spent Christmas Eve with my parents doing our traditional fondue dinner. It was lots of fun as usual! We then came to our apartment to put Kade to bed and played another two games of Settlers of Catan. It has been a full year since we started playing and Luke and my dad can never get enough.

Luke is responsible for shoveling the walks at the mortuary and there has been plenty of work for him this week trying to keep them clear. Kade and I went out with him this morning to keep him company and Kade had a great time looking at all the snow. It was a wonderful white Christmas.
Kade has progressed so much in this last week. Last Friday he had one tooth and could kind of crawl one or two feet. But now, he cut his second tooth on the 23 (his 8 month mark), cut his third tooth this morning, really got the hang of crawling yesterday and has been moving all over, learned how to turn pages when we are reading books, and just seems so much older. We love you Kader-ator!

Merry Christmas!

Chrismas dinner. . .yummy!

We hosted my parents and Mark and Mitzi and their four girls for Christmas dinner. We had a great dinner, played games and just enjoyed the day.

We had fun on Christmas morning although Kade didn't seem to know what all the fuss was about. Usually he loves paper and boxes but he wasn't interested so he jumped in his jolly jumper for a while and Luke and I opened presents. Once everything was open Kade found a couple pieces of wrapping paper he liked.

My first violin recital

Today was my first violin recital. I played Glockenspiel by Mozart. It went well and my mom gave me a ride to the recital--just like all the other little kids. Luke had to work (he is working at Brick Oven for the three weeks off from school) and my dad volunteered to stay home with Kade so it worked out well.

Thanks for your support Mom! She said that this was the easiest time she ever had taking me to a recital--no whining or fighting or anything like when she had to drag us to piano recitals when Janetta and I were younger

But do you recall. . .the cutest reindeer of all!

We had these pictures taken at my work Christmas party. It was cold that night so we had bundled Kade up in his cute deer suit and he was a hit at the party. We are getting excited for Christmas! A few inches of snow fell today and it looks beautiful.

Turkey Day Adventures

We spent Thanksgiving with Luke's family in their beautiful new home outside Sacramento. It was our first time visiting them up in Northern California and we had a great time. We also were able to see the King's new house and visit with Grandpa and Grandma as well as Aunt Kathy, Marianne and Lynsee. Dinner was scrumptious and it was a fun trip all around.

A cute turkey hat from Grandma!

Our happy little traveler. He was so good on our long days of driving. I had to work on Friday night, so we woke up at 4, drove all day, arrived in Provo and I took a nap and then went off to work!

Our "a-drawer-able" little guy now loves to hang onto handles on dressers and desks.

Hopefully he just likes the feel of the metal on his tooth and gums and doesn't have pica :)
